The worst week I had building a deck in Cleveland last June
I took a job adding a 12x20 foot deck for a client near Rocky River and everything that could go wrong did. The lumber delivery showed up a day late and half the boards had twist and cup I had to fight with. Then it rained for three straight days while I had the framing exposed, and I spent another day just drying everything out. Has anyone else dealt with a supplier giving them junk wood and still charging full price?

Did a buddy of mine get burned by the same lumberyard last year? He ordered treated pine for a fence and half of it was so wet and warped it looked like it came off a salvage pile, but they still made him pay full price. Total nightmare, had to argue with them for weeks just to get a partial refund.

Treated pine turning up wet and warped is a classic lumberyard scam honestly. They know most people aren't gonna inspect every single board before they haul it out, then they play dumb when you complain. Your buddy should have hit them with photos and a threat to blast them on social media, that usually gets faster results than arguing for weeks. Treated lumber should be dry and straight when you buy it, not something that leaves a puddle on your driveway.
