Stopped at a job site in Tulsa and counted 14 guys cutting on the ground with no sawhorses
I was dropping off a load of 2x4s in Tulsa last week and stood around for a bit watching the framing crew. Every single guy was cutting on the dirt or on their knee, not one sawhorse in sight, and I saw two guys nearly catch a circ saw in their pant leg. Is cutting on the ground just normal now, or did I happen to walk onto the sloppiest crew in Oklahoma?

That many guys all cutting on the dirt tells me nobody showed up with their own gear, which means the builder probably isn't supplying anything either. A good framer owns sawhorses, so 14 without them smells like a crew hired off the street that morning.

14 guys and zero sawhorses sounds about right for a tract home crew trying to beat a deadline, I've seen the same thing on sites in OKC. It's lazy but honestly pretty common when the builder is pushing speed over safety.
