Pro tip: A client in Nashville made me rethink my whole approach to trim work

I was installing some crown molding in a 1920s bungalow and the homeowner asked me to leave the old, slightly uneven plaster walls alone instead of trying to force everything perfectly level. It looked WAY more authentic and saved me a full day of mudding. How do you guys handle old walls that aren't square?

Honestly, is it that deep? It's just trim on an old wall. Sometimes you just have to make it work and move on, not turn it into a whole life lesson.
