I'm the lone guy who thinks Festool is way overpriced for what you get
I dropped $750 on a Festool Domino joiner about 2 years ago because everyone raved about it being the best thing since sliced bread. Honestly, I've used it maybe 5 times and I still prefer my old-school doweling jig that cost me $40 at a garage sale. The dominoes themselves are stupid expensive, like $40 for a small pack, and they don't line up any better than my cheap jig does after I take the time to mark things right. I know I'm in the minority here and people swear by them for speed, but for a custom furniture build I did last spring, I just couldn't justify the hype. Has anyone else felt burned by a fancy tool that didn't live up to the price tag?

Just sell the Domino and put that money towards something you'll actually use, the resale on them stays pretty solid. I bought a high end track saw thinking it would change my life and ended up going back to a circular saw with a straight edge for 90% of cuts. Sometimes the old ways are just as good once you've got the technique down.

Honestly, I swapped my Domino for a drill guide and never looked back.
