I tried a new glue for a tricky outdoor bench repair

Had to fix a cedar bench that kept coming apart at the joints. I grabbed a bottle of that waterproof polyurethane glue instead of my usual wood glue. It foamed up way more than I expected and made a huge mess, but after it dried and I cleaned it up, that joint is solid. Has anyone else had a good result with that stuff on wet wood?

That polyurethane glue actually works best on damp wood, not fully wet wood.
