Hit 5000 linear feet of baseboard this year without realizing it
I was cleaning out my truck last week and found my old notebook. I counted up all the trim jobs I did this year and came to 5,027 feet of baseboard. That's almost a mile of running base. Back when I started in the 90s I was lucky to do 1,000 feet in a year. It hit me that I've probably done more trim in the last decade than the first 20 years combined. Has anyone else looked back at their numbers and gotten surprised?

Man that's wild. I did the math on my own work a while back and it was kinda depressing honestly. My back hurts just thinking about all those miles of base. The thing is I never even thought about it until I saw that number in my old book. It's like you're just going through the motions day after day and then bam it hits you. I remember one job I did a few years ago where I was running shoe molding in this old Victorian house and I kept finding more rooms I forgot about. Turns out it was like 800 feet in one house which is insane for a single job. Made me realize how much of my life I've spent on my knees. Not complaining just... yeah it adds up faster than you think.

Read a study once that said tradespeople walk miles daily without even knowing it.
