Blew $60 on a pocket hole jig that wobbled on the third joint

Bought a no-name jig off Amazon for a kitchen cabinet build and the guide sleeve shifted halfway through a run of 50 holes, anyone else stick to the big brands after a bad experience?

That specific guide sleeve shifting sounds like a nightmare, especially halfway through 50 holes. Did you notice the set screws were loose on the jig before you started drilling, or did it just give out without any warning at all? I've had cheap clamps slip on me before but never the actual guide on a jig, that would drive me up a wall. What brand did you replace it with after that mess? I'm curious if you went with Kreg or grabbed something from a store where you could actually feel the build quality in your hand before buying.

That 'drove me up a wall' feeling is exactly it. It's like how a grocery cart has that one wobbly wheel you don't notice until you're buying the heavy stuff. The jig just gave out without warning, which is the same pattern I've seen with cheap tools and cheap furniture - they work great until they don't, and then you're stuck holding the pieces.
