Took a mock interview class on a whim, fixed my biggest blunder

I always bombed the 'tell me about yourself' part. Last month I signed up for a free mock interview session at my local library in Austin. The instructor pointed out I was just listing jobs, not telling a story. She told me to use the 'past, present, future' format. Tried it at a real interview two weeks later. Got a second round callback, which never happens to me. Has anyone else found a specific structure that works for that question?

That’s a great tip, and it makes so much sense. Most people just rattle off a resume, but a story actually helps them see you as a person. Happy it worked out for you, keep using that format.
