TIL my resume rewrite took 4 months longer than I expected

I spent last January trying to overhaul my resume to switch from construction to office work, but every draft I wrote sounded like I was bragging about pressure washing parking lots. After 12 versions and feedback from three different friends, I finally got a callback in May. Has anyone else had a simple career task drag out way past what you thought it would take?

Twelve versions is honestly pretty impressive for a resume.

Is it really that impressive though? The guy clearly didn't have a clue what he was doing for the first ten versions. It's like saying you're impressed someone burned twelve batches of cookies before finally getting one right. Most people tweak things a few times and send it out, not keep a whole filing cabinet of old attempts.
