Showerthought: I tried both a generic cover letter and one I tailored for each job for a month
The tailored ones got me 3 callbacks, the generic ones got zero... Has anyone else seen a jump like that from just changing their cover letter approach?

Yeah that tracks. It's like putting in the extra five minutes on anything usually shows, whether it's a cover letter or just making a decent dinner.

I read a blog post last year about a chef who said the difference between a good omelet and a great one is literally ninety seconds of low heat and patience. That stuck with me. It's the same with wiping down kitchen counters right after cooking instead of later, or proofreading an email twice. Those tiny bits of extra care add up to a finished product that just feels more solid.
