PSA: My first week at a new job included a fire drill, a broken copier, and a cake with the wrong name on it
I started at a small insurance office in Dayton last Monday and by Wednesday I had already set off the break room microwave alarm twice. On Thursday the office manager ordered a welcome cake but the bakery wrote 'Welcome Brenda' on it, and nobody corrected them, so I just went with it for two days. By Friday I had a nickname, a desk plant, and a decent idea of who to ask for help. Has anyone else had a first week where the small messes made it easier to settle in?
