Old coworker told me to never take a job with a 6 am start time, took one anyway last month in Phoenix
So this guy Gary who drove for the same company for 15 years always said 'if the shift starts before 7, the parking lot drama starts before 6.' I thought he was just being dramatic because he hated mornings. Then last month I took this dispatcher gig in Phoenix that started at 6 am. First week I showed up and two drivers are fighting over a dented fender in the lot, another guy is screaming at the supervisor about a route that got cut. By 7:30 someone almost got fired over a coffee spill. Gary was spot on. Has anyone else taken a job ignoring some old timer's advice and instantly regretted it? What was the dumb thing they warned you about?
