My old dispatcher told me to turn down a $4 raise, and he was right
Back when I drove for a small outfit out of Joplin, a dispatcher named Ray told me to skip a $4 an hour raise that came with switching to a different route. I took the raise anyway because it sounded like easy money, then spent 8 months running a lane with no home time and bad loads. Ray quit not long after and I never got to tell him he called it. Did a mentor ever steer you away from something that looked good on paper?
