My manager told me I was 'too wordy' in client emails and it stung at first

I used to write these long detailed emails explaining every little thing to clients. My boss pulled me aside last month after a client complained about getting a 3 paragraph response to a simple yes or no question. She said clients just want the bottom line up front. I started putting my main point in the first sentence and now I get way less follow up questions. Anyone else had to totally change how they communicate after feedback like that?

Detailed emails show you actually care" - Trim it down and they'll actually read it.
