My crew's paint sprayer died on a big job in Tempe last Thursday
We were halfway through a 5,000 sq ft exterior and the motor just quit. I had to run to the rental place, grab a backup unit, and eat the $200 cost myself to keep us on schedule. Anyone have a good brand for a sprayer that can handle Arizona heat without crapping out?

Graco Magnums are built for that kind of abuse. Their pumps can take the heat way better than most rental grade stuff. You'll pay more up front but it beats eating rental fees every summer.

Oh man, that tracks with what my contractor buddy always says. He told me once that the rental units get run into the ground by people who don't know how to care for them, so they're already half dead when you get them. Buying your own reliable gear just makes sense if you're doing this stuff a lot. It's like that old saying about the boot cost, you know? Spending more once instead of a little bit over and over.
