My big client pitch fell apart because I forgot to check the projector

I was giving a pitch to a new client in their office last Thursday and the projector wouldn't connect to my laptop. I spent five minutes fumbling with cables while they just sat there. I ended up having to talk through the slides from memory, which actually went okay. Has anyone else had tech fail right at the worst moment, and what's your backup plan now?

Always bring a printed deck now.

Honestly @rileyl67, that's probably the smart move. My luck is so bad that if I tried to print a deck, my printer would either jam or run out of ink right then. I'd end up with just the first page of my deck over and over again. It's like the universe wants me to show up unprepared. Maybe it's just me, but having a physical backup seems like the only way to beat my own terrible luck.
