I stopped using a resume for a month and got more calls

I was tired of sending resumes into the void, so for all of April I just put a link to my LinkedIn profile in my application emails. I got calls from 4 recruiters in Austin, which was way more than the zero I got the month before. I guess a real profile with my projects is just easier for them to see. Has anyone else had luck just skipping the resume file?

Yeah, it's wild, right? I'm seeing it too, but only for very specific tech skills (like old systems nobody wants to learn anymore). Makes you wonder if the "hot jobs" list is totally wrong now. Maybe the real openings are for the boring, stable stuff companies can't ignore.
