Hot take: your resume summary line is a waste of space, delete it today
Last month I sat in on a hiring panel at our office in Austin and watched 14 resumes get tossed in under 90 seconds. Every single one had that boring two line summary at the top, stuff like 'Results driven professional seeking new challenges.' Nobody reads that garbage, recruiters skip straight to your last job. I pulled mine off last week and got two callbacks in three days, which is two more than I got in six weeks before. The space is better used for a skills list or a link to actual work you've done. Has anyone else tried cutting that section and seen a difference?
