Got a brutal reality check at a tech meetup in Austin last month

I was talking to this senior dev from a big company and mentioned I'd been at my current job for 5 years. He just looked at me and said, 'You're comfortable, not growing.' It hit me that I hadn't learned a new framework or taken a real risk in years. Now I'm forcing myself to apply for one stretch role a week, even if I'm not fully qualified. How do you guys push yourselves out of a career comfort zone?
