Changed my mind about job fairs after the one at the Riverside convention center
I used to think job fairs were a waste of a Saturday, but last month my cousin dragged me to one in Riverside and I actually saw why they work. There were 40 something companies there and I watched a recruiter from a logistics firm spend 15 minutes with a guy who just walked up with no resume, just asking questions about the schedule. She wrote his name down and said to email her that night, which I didn't expect at all. I guess a person standing in front of you beats an online form in a pile of 300. Has anyone actually gotten a callback from one of these, or was that just a nice moment?
