Tried tape vs no glue on my latest box fort and the winner was obvious

I built two small towers last weekend to test this. One I just used packing tape on the seams and the other I added a thin layer of white glue on the flaps before taping. The glue one held up way better after my kid climbed on it. The tape only tower started sagging after like 2 hours. Has anyone else tried mixing glue into their builds?

It's funny you mention that because last month I tried using hot glue on a smaller fort and I accidentally melted through the cardboard in like two spots. My kid thought it was a secret spy window so that worked out okay actually.

Nah, I gotta disagree here. Tape by itself works fine if you do it right. The trick is using good quality duct tape and wrapping it tight around the seams, not just sticking it on flat. Ive built stuff that lasted days with just tape. Adding glue just makes it a mess when you break it down later. Plus if you ever want to reuse the cardboard, glue ruins it. Tape peels off way cleaner. Seems like overkill for a kids fort that's gonna get knocked over anyway.
