My tape job keeps failing on the door flaps

I keep seeing people tape the outside of box flaps shut, but then the tape peels off after an hour of crawling through the fort. Last weekend I started taping the inside seams where the flaps meet, and now my doors stay together even when my nephew tries to slide through them. Anyone else have a better trick for reinforcing those weak points?

Whoa, hold up. Is this really that big of a deal? I mean, yeah, tape peeling off is annoying but we're talking about a cardboard fort here, not a spaceship. I've had the same issue before and honestly, the inside tape trick works okay but I never noticed a huge difference. Maybe just use more tape or a different brand?

Well, @ellis.felix, what kind of tape were you using when you tried the inside trick? I'm not saying it's a miracle fix or anything, but I swear by the 3M stuff in the red dispenser for this. It's pricey compared to the dollar store rolls, but I had a corner that stayed stuck for three whole days after a monsoon rain. Everything else I've tried just gives up after a few hours.
