My nephew's box fort went from sad taco stand to two story castle in 9 days
When my nephew first built his fort in the living room it was basically 4 diaper boxes taped into a slump, and my sister sent me a photo captioned 'it's giving laundry basket.' Then I brought over a box cutter and about 30 Amazon boxes from my garage, and over 9 days we added a second floor, a working drawbridge, and a window with plastic wrap for glass. Now he wants me to add a slide, so what's the safest way to attach one without the whole thing folding like a lawn chair?
How much does he actually weigh and how tall is the second floor? That slide is only as safe as the anchor holding it, and a 30 box castle will tip fast if you bolt the slide to one flimsy wall. Run a couple of 2x4s down the back of the whole thing first, then attach the slide to that so the load spreads out instead of yanking one corner loose.
