I used to hate on those 'fort building kits' but my nephew proved me wrong
My nephew showed up last weekend with some store bought cardboard fort kit. I figured it was just overpriced junk. But the thing had pre-scored fold lines and interlocking tabs that made a 4 room castle in under an hour. He was so proud of it. Has anyone else tried one of these kits or am I just old fashioned?

Bought one of those kits for my own kids last month and ended up sitting in the cardboard castle by myself for 20 minutes trying to figure out how they got the little drawbridge to work. I’m 42 and a grown man. Guess I’m the old fashioned one.

@richard110 that cardboard castle thing is actually impressive engineering for a kids toy. I saw the kit at the store and almost bought one just to mess with it myself. You're not old fashioned at all, those little mechanisms can be tricky to figure out. The drawbridge probably uses some kind of string and pulley system that looks simple but takes patience. I bet your kids loved watching you figure it out though, even if you did it alone at first.
