Duct tape vs hot glue for my castle build, had to pick one

Last weekend I finally committed to building a two story castle fort for my niece's birthday. I had all the boxes cut and stacked but hit the wall when it came to joining the big panels. Duct tape is fast and forgiving but it looks messy and peels off after a day of kids climbing. Hot glue holds like crazy but you get one shot, if the angle is off you're ripping cardboard and starting over. I went with duct tape for the main frame and used hot glue only on the corner braces and window frames. The tape sagged a bit on the roof section around hour 3 but nothing a few extra strips didn't fix. Honestly the mix worked way better than I thought, but I'm curious what everyone else uses for load bearing joints on bigger forts. Do you guys trust tape alone or is glue the only way for tall structures?

Heard duct tape loses its stick when it gets hot, so glue might be safer for the roof lol.
