Cancelled a $90 dinner for a frozen lasagna night and honestly it was the better call
My wife and I had a sitter booked for Saturday and plans to try that new place downtown with the $90 tasting menu, but the sitter called at 4pm with a sick kid. We were both pretty bummed for about ten minutes, then we remembered the lasagna I'd stashed in the freezer two weeks ago. We ate it on the couch in our sweats by 6:30 and were asleep by 10. The dinner out would have been rushed and loud, and we'd have spent the whole time checking the phone. Now I'm wondering if we should just cancel the reschedule and keep the sitter money. Has anyone else found the backup plan beat the real plan?
