Warning: My 10-year-old camp stove valve failed completely on a trip to the Smokies last weekend.
Had to cook over the fire for three days, which was a pain in the rain. Anyone got a lead on a super reliable replacement that can handle serious abuse?

Man, that sounds like the universe's way of telling you to embrace your inner scout. Nothing like a little forced fire-starting in a downpour to build character, right? For a replacement, you can't beat the old MSR WhisperLite for pure, dumb reliability. That thing is basically a metal brick with a flame.

Wait, did you actually try to start a fire in the rain? I'm picturing you rubbing sticks together while getting soaked... That WhisperLite is a tank, sure, but my hands are cramping up just thinking about pumping it in a storm. Sometimes building character is just another word for being totally miserable.
