Vent: my sleeping pad hit 50 nights and then just gave out

I bought a Therm-a-Rest NeoAir in March for a thru-hike attempt near Asheville. 50 nights in, right at the Blue Ridge Parkway campsite, it started deflating every two hours. The patch kit didn't help because the seam split, not a puncture. Has anyone else had a pad fail that fast, or did I just get a dud off the line?

Gotta remember, 50 nights is kinda the break-in point for some pads, not a long life.
