Took my new $45 inflatable pillow and my old rolled-up sweatshirt on a trip to the Sawtooths

The pillow was flat by midnight, but the sweatshirt was still going strong. Anyone else have gear that's just too fancy for its own good?

Seems like a lot of gear these days is built to fail. That fancy pillow probably had a tiny valve or thin material. My buddy had a hundred dollar jacket that ripped on its first hike. Sometimes the old simple stuff just works better.
