Took me 3 hours to figure out why my tent kept flooding even with a tarp underneath
Turned out I was setting up in a slight depression where water pooled overnight, and I only noticed after dragging everything inside to dry out at 2 AM - anyone else spend way too long learning basic campsite selection the hard way?

Man, I had a friend who spent a whole weekend drying out his gear after setting up in what he thought was a nice flat spot. He found out later it was the low point where all the morning dew and rain ran downhill. Definitely one of those lessons you only learn after you've slept in a puddle once.
