The tent sites at Clear Lake State Park are basically gravel pits now

Used to be soft grassy spots where you could actually get a tent stake in without a sledgehammer. Now it's like trying to camp on a parking lot.

Yeah that's basically how it is at a lot of parks now. My buddy and I drove two hours to a spot last year and the tent pad was just hard-packed dirt full of little rocks. We ended up using big rocks to pound stakes in and it took FOREVER.
