My tent pole snapped at 2am near Estes Park and a roll of duct tape saved the trip
I was camping at a site outside Estes Park two weekends ago when the main pole on my 4 person tent cracked right at the joint during a wind gust around 2am. I wrapped it with about a foot of duct tape and a broken tent stake splint, and honestly it held up fine for the last two nights. Has anyone found a repair kit that actually works better than tape, or should I just replace the pole section?

How bad was the crack, was it fully snapped in two or just split at the joint? If it's just the one section you can usually order a replacement pole piece from the maker for way less than a whole new tent.
