Bought a $12 headlamp at a truck stop in Flagstaff and it died 20 minutes into the trail
My $70 Black Diamond has survived 3 seasons of camping but the cheap backup I grabbed on a whim lasted one creek crossing, so now I want to know which budget headlamps have actually held up for you and which ones are just trash with batteries?

Buddy of mine grabbed a $15 one at a Walmart in Phoenix for a weekend trip and it made it through two nights plus a rainy hike back. His brother bought the same one a month later and it quit on the first night, so seems like it's a coin flip. For cheap ones I'd just bring two and not trust either.
