Sticky aperture blades after a 2019 CLA, fixed with a pencil eraser?

I had a Canon FD 50mm that started hesitating at f/8 after sitting for 6 years, and rubbing a soft pencil eraser on the blade edges got it snappy again in 20 minutes, has anyone else tried that trick or is it just asking for oil to spread worse?
