I always thought using a toothpick for shutter blade cleaning was fine until a repair in Portland last month.

I was working on a Pentax MX and a tiny splinter from the wood got stuck in the mechanism, costing me an extra hour to fix. Now I only use plastic dental tools for that job, which I got from a local supply shop. What's your go-to tool for cleaning delicate shutter blades?

Ever try those soft-bristle art brushes for getting dust out first?

Oh man, that's a nightmare. Did the wood swell up or just jam things? I had a similar scare with a metal tweezers slipping and putting a tiny ding in a blade on an old Canonet. Now I'm all about those soft plastic spudgers from an electronics repair kit.
