Had a Yashica-Mat TLR lock up on me mid-shot last Sunday in Portland
The winding mechanism just seized up out of nowhere, and after prying it open I found a tiny piece of a broken gear tooth lodged in the transport track - has anyone else dealt with that specific issue on old TLRs?

Gotta love vintage gear - they just want you to work for your photos. Sounds like that little gear tooth was a real jerk.

Has anyone else ran into those tiny parts that just decide to mess up your whole day? I had a similar headache with an old Pentax spotmatic where the shutter release jammed up. What finally worked for me was using a tiny drop of lighter fluid on a q-tip and just dabbing it around the stuck part, then letting it sit for a few minutes before trying again. Did you try anything along those lines yet?
