Guy brought in his grandfather's Spotmatic with a note taped inside the bottom plate
He dropped it on my bench in Tucson and said "my grandpa wrote that the meter reads one stop hot, don't trust it." I opened it up and the meter was dead on, but the shutter was dragging at 1/500 and the note was from 1974. So now I always ask who wrote the note before I trust it, do you guys read the old service tags left inside cameras or toss them?
