From my bench: Everyone says to avoid touching mirror box foam, but I replace it by hand all the time.

Totally get where you're coming from. I've been replacing that foam by hand for years without any issues. Like, I just peel off the old stuff and press the new one in place. It sticks fine and saves me from overcomplicating things. Some folks act like it's toxic or something, but gloves just slow me down. Works every time, lol.
