Everyone swears by OEM rubber seals, but the old timer in Tulsa showed me a better way
Last month I drove to Tulsa to pick up a parts lot from a retired repair guy who worked on rangefinders for 40 years. He handed me a 1968 Canonet with a light leak and said his fix was a strip of black felt from a craft store, not the $18 OEM seal kit everyone pushes on forums. We tested it with a flashlight for 10 minutes and zero leaks, so why do we keep telling new folks to buy the expensive kits?
