Appreciation post: the old repair guy in Fort Worth who showed me a cotton swab trick for lens fungus
I used to blow off cotton swabs for cleaning fungus out of old glass. Thought them too soft and slow. Then last month a customer brought in a 50mm with a bad haze spot and I was stuck. The older guy at the bench next to mine in Fort Worth said just use a swab with a drop of 50/50 peroxide and distilled water, light pressure, go in circles. Cleared it in about 4 minutes and left zero marks on the coating. I had been scrubbing with a microfiber for years and never got it that clean. What mix do you all use for the stubborn stuff?
