Warning: everyone bends the drip loop the wrong way on a mast entry
I have seen three crews in Vancouver run the loop upward against the service drop so water sits right on the fitting instead of draining off. It takes ten seconds to flip it and saves you a callback when the customer calls about water in the wall after a storm.
That is a good catch and it drives me crazy too. Watched a crew do the same thing out here last spring, loop pointing up so the fitting was basically a cup catching rain. By the time the homeowner called about a wet patch on the ceiling, the drywall and the plate were both done for. Ten seconds of work would have saved them a whole afternoon of repairs. Some guys just copy what the last guy did without ever thinking about where the water goes.
