Vent: Everyone swears by gel-filled cable pulling lube but I switched back to the old soap-and-water mix
I used to buy the expensive gel stuff from Anixter until I realized plain dish soap and water works just as well for residential jobs here in Austin, and it costs me like $3 a month instead of $25 a gallon, so has anyone else gone back to the basic stuff and felt like a dummy for spending more?

Three times I fell for that marketing hype before I learned my lesson. @sanchez.mary you are totally right, that stuff is just pricey water with a fancy label. I stick with drugstore brands now and my hair actually feels better. The expensive stuff just sat on top of my hair and made it look greasy. Why pay double for something that does the same job?
