My new fish tape snapped on the first pull through a 3/4-inch conduit
I was running a new line in a house built in the 80s, and the tape just broke about 15 feet in. I had to use my old, slightly bent tape to finish the job, which was a pain. Has anyone else had a new tool fail that fast, or did I just get a bad one?

Snapped on the first pull" sounds like a major defect, not just a bad pull. I'd be sending that back for a refund immediately.

Yeah, that's a total lemon. I had the same thing happen with a brand new hacksaw, the blade just shattered on the first cut through some PVC. Felt like the metal was made of chalk.
