Why nobody talks about using blue tape for hinge mortises (game changer for me)
I used to freehand my hinge mortises with a chisel and a prayer, you know? After messing up 3 cabinet doors in a row last month, I started marking the hinge outline with blue tape and scoring it with a knife before chiseling. It gives me a perfect clean edge every time now, especially on those tricky European hinges. Has anyone else tried this or do you have a different trick for keeping your mortises clean?

David, have you ever tried marking your hinge outlines with a knife before chiseling? It saved me a ton of headaches once I started doing it, even with cheap hardware. What's your go-to method for getting those edges clean without gouging the wood?
