Went to an old woodworking shop in Portland last month and it smelled like a time capsule
The whole place still used oil finish on everything and their methods felt slower but more deliberate, has anyone else walked into a shop that made you question if modern techniques are actually better?

Used to think faster was better but that shop changed my mind completely.

@baker.simon sounds like you went from speed racer to snail mode real quick. Sounds like that shop showed you quality over quantity, which is rare these days. Ngl, better to have one loaf that's perfect than ten that taste like cardboard.
