Wasted $80 on a cheap drawer slide jig that threw off all my spacing
Picked up one of those plastic jigs from Amazon to speed up drawer slide installs. First drawer went OK but the second one was off by like 3/16ths. Tried to adjust and it just made it worse. Ended up tossing the whole thing and going back to my tape measure and square. Anyone else had bad luck with those universal jigs?

Did you try clamping the jig down before drilling?

Heard a tip from a guy on another forum who swears by using a piece of scrap wood under the clamp to get better grip on slick surfaces. I mean, I tried clamping it down once without that and the whole jig just slid around like crazy. Maybe it's just me but once I added that extra scrap piece it held solid. Also makes the clamp less likely to dent your workpiece if you're cranking down hard. Idk, seems like a small thing but it made a big difference for me.
