Wasted $200 on a cheap drum sander that couldn't even level a cutting board

Bought one of those off brand drum sanders from Amazon a few months back. Thought I was being smart saving some cash. First time I ran a piece of maple through it the drum wobbled so bad it left gouges deep enough you could feel them with your finger. Tried adjusting it for an hour, gave up. Now it's sitting in my garage taking up space. Anyone else get burned by cheap sanding gear or am I the only sucker here?

Man that stings... I did the same thing with a cheap thickness planer last year and it just chewed up everything I put through it. Learn the hard way I guess, but it still hurts thinking about the money.
