Threw together a shooting board and it fixed my edge problems

I was always struggling to get straight edges on my boards (a real pain) until I put together a basic shooting board from scrap plywood. It uses a hand plane to trim ends and edges, and now my joinery fits tight every time. I don't have to rely on my table saw's fence, which was never perfect. What other simple jigs have you all assembled to save time?

Heard about router sleds for flattening slabs?

Bro, no way you're jumping into router sleds without knowing the dust apocalypse. It creates a crazy amount of fine powder everywhere, I'm not kidding. My first time, I choked on the stuff for days. The sled setup alone can take a whole weekend to get precise. And if your router isn't a beast, it'll stall on hard wood. Only worth it for production work, imo.
