Spent a whole weekend just getting a drawer front to line up

I was building a set of kitchen cabinets for a client and the last drawer front just would not sit flush with the others. I checked the slides, the box, everything. It turned out the plywood for the cabinet face frame had a slight warp I missed. I spent about 8 hours over two days shimming and planing before it finally looked right. Has anyone else had a simple alignment job eat up a huge chunk of time?
