My old boss told me to stop hand planing door edges, and I'm still not sure he was right
Ran into him at a lumber yard in Dayton last month and he laughed when I told him I still true up every door edge with a hand plane before hanging. He said in 30 years he never once saw a door gap that a sharp block plane could not fix faster than a jointer jig, and honestly it made me rethink why I trained myself to do it the slow way. Do you all still plane door edges by hand, or is that just a habit I picked up from an old shop?
